Shipping & returns
Shipping
UK shipping is free. We dispatch from Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland. In-stock items are ready to dispatch straight away.
International shipping is calculated at checkout. Each Gardening Jacket travels in its own box, and shipping charges increase with the number of jackets ordered.
International orders are sent with import charges unpaid (DAP). We do not collect import duties or import taxes at checkout. If charges are due, you pay the carrier or customs authority before or on delivery; these are separate from the shipping price.
Estimated import duties and taxes
A guide for one UK-made cotton-canvas Gardening Jacket at its full £239.95 price. Figures below are approximate GBP equivalents, before carrier clearance or handling fees. You can still shop and pay in your local currency.
For preorders, customs uses the full jacket value, not just the 50% deposit. These estimates are not collected by Éide and are not a guaranteed quote. Customs exchange rates, the final classification and the rules in force when your order arrives determine the actual charge.
Destination
Estimated charges on arrival
United Kingdom
£0 import charges
Domestic delivery from Northern Ireland.
European Union
Normally £0 import charges
For goods in EU free circulation dispatched from Northern Ireland with the correct customs status and route. Special territories and goods without that status can be treated differently.
United States
Allow roughly £40–£50 in import duty
A provisional planning range for one jacket, before carrier fees. It allows for ordinary cotton-outerwear duty and the additional UK-origin tariff. The final DAP assessment can differ; this is not a prepaid-duty quote. Any state sales or use-tax obligations are separate.
Canada
About £55–£83 in duty and tax
Illustration using 17% standard clothing duty, then 5–15% GST/HST/PST depending on province. If UK preferential-origin relief is accepted, duty may fall to zero and the tax-only estimate is around £12–£36. UK manufacture alone does not guarantee that relief.
Australia
£0 border duty or import GST expected
For one jacket while the consignment value remains at or below A$1,000. Larger orders can cross the threshold and attract duty, GST and processing charges.
New Zealand
£0 border duty or import GST expected
For one jacket while the goods value remains at or below NZ$1,000. Carrier or border-processing levies may still apply. Customs can combine related consignments when assessing the threshold.
Switzerland
About £22 in import VAT
No industrial customs duty on clothing; 8.1% VAT on the jacket plus delivery. Illustration includes £31.65 shipping. Carrier clearance fees are extra and can increase the taxable amount.
Singapore
About £25 in import GST
Clothing is non-dutiable; 9% GST applies when the total cost, insurance and freight exceeds S$400. Illustration includes £34.35 shipping; any carrier fees are extra.

How to use these estimates
Checked 13 October 2026. Amounts are rounded and assume one jacket at full price. Shipping is included in the Swiss and Singapore tax illustrations above; other examples use the jacket value and the stated thresholds. Discounts, local-currency pricing, insurance, clearance fees and larger orders can change the assessment. Sending jackets in separate boxes does not necessarily give each box a separate tax-free allowance.
Import duty is different from VAT/GST. A duty-free shipment can still attract tax and carrier fees. These figures are a guide to import charges only, not a promise of the total cost of your order.
